I just realized I gave you a spoiler. My bad. I feel kinda dumb now.

Dude with the dreads? Ronin. He's SGA's Tealc like character. There is no substitute for Tealc though (or SG1 for that matter). I'm still bummed about what happened to the SG franchise. Universe has been canceled. They progressively replaced the somewhat campy element with soap opera crap, then wondered what happened. Why go messing with a good thing? Syfy is carrying wrasslin' now. Nothing the matter with that if you're in to that type of thing, but I don't get the Science Fiction connection.
  • Comment on FRANK'S 70 BIRTHDAY (2010-12-23 16:48:40)
I'll skip the sigh. Frank Zappa was one of the most influential (or otherwise awesome) musicians of the 20th century. He died in '93 (way too f'n young) of prostate cancer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Zappa You should probably just head on over to http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/search/song?q=jazz%20discharge%20party%20hats and listen to "Jazz Discharge Party Hats." It might not be the best Zappa song, but it is certainly great.

I would like to give the benefit of the doubt, and good point atk, but it's more likely that someones budget (you know who) is getting padded. While I agree that the public doesn't need to know everything, there has to be some oversight. If not, everything can be a "project not reported." I don't know about you, but my trust is running a little thin.
  • Comment on Canon and Kodachrome (2010-08-09 12:31:45)
Kodachrome 64 was awesome indeed, but the chems used to process were pretty heinous (bad for the environment and the tech). I shot my weight in the stuff, and printed enough Cibachromes to probably render myself sterile. You can replicate K64 pretty easily by blasting the image with saturation (especially on the red channel), increasing the contrast, and softening just a bit.

When a hammer costs $100 and toilet seat costs $600, this makes perfect sense.

They were much funnier when they referred to themselves as Teabaggers.

Oddly enough, in the background, there's also what looks like a little girl missing her bottom half. Looks like it's been cloned out.

They might be visiting and all, but that's not an Iraq license plate on the Volvo. http://www.worldlicenseplates.com/world/AS_IRAQ.html
  • Comment on Atheist's arguments (2010-08-03 12:53:46)
I call myself an agnostic. Most of the time we nod and smile and go find something more important to put energy into. Really, who cares? Maybe you'll find out when you die, maybe not. Do beware of those peddling the kool-aid though.
  • Comment on Get off my lawn! (2010-06-29 14:55:00)
Yep, completely agree. I (vaguely) remember when MTV came out. It was great. There were often videos of people playing music, or music playing with some (crude at the time) cutting edge special effects. Usually something spinning. We can't blame MTV though. They look at the ratings. People want stupid shit, so they serve it up.

About $33,900 http://tinyurl.com/2f56arb If you're interested in the complete experience, the mullet will set you back about $20.
