Hm, I'm gonna use ghost11's faux pas to bring up something that bugs me to no end. But I do get the joke, and many lulz were had. Ok, so the rule (possibly the only rule in English that is universally consistent) is that an goes before a vowel sound, a before a consonant. It's so simple, it never changes. So why does CNN insist on using an before history, historic, and a few other h words that start with the h sound? This seriously bothers me. A whole lot. It couldn't be easier people. A university. An honor. A hat. An umbrella. Universal.

Can I just say that despite a career that's in the toilet Jim Carrey is still a pretty cool guy. And somehow I've only aquired this viewpoint in the last year or so. The total reverse of someone like, say, Eddie Murphy.
