At the peak of their expansion, there were two Krispy Kremes near where I live. I was a lot younger then and could get away with eating them regularly...and I did with pleasure. Once you have Krispy Kreme donuts, especially when they are fresh out of the oven, regular donuts just seem pathetic in comparison. Especially Dunkin Donuts, to that guy above, which are lesser quality than a lot of other donut chains. My friends and I used to swing by Krispy Kreme on the way home from Tommy's (divine burger joint for you non-California nobodies) back then. My record still stands at 10 donuts in one sitting; I was always disappointed I never managed to finish an entire box of a dozen in a single sitting. Now that we're all 30+, we can't get away with eating so horribly. Fortunately, they vanished after a while, leaving us with only memories.
