My wife and I had adopted two bi-racial babies when she finally got pregnant. The first time we went to see the OB/GYN together, our babysitter suddenly couldn't make it, so we had to take both children. As we waited some nosy people started trying to converse with us. I shut them up when I said in my most dejected voice possible, "I just sure hope this one is mine." For some reason my wife didn't find it funny.
