exactly. since Northamerica and Europe pretty much constitutes what is generally known as "the West" their social, economical and cultural developement is very interconnected. if you want to picture the future of the west, try "food/gas/stuff riots". as for the "muslim threat"...let me just say: it's quite bearable here in Europe. plus, it's not just the religion (any) per se that worries me. it's the rise in fundamentalist views in every aspect of life. and that goes for christian beliefs as well. and China, well...let's just say that apart from their leading role in very much everthing, they got a shitload of problems themselves. one should also never underestimate Russia imo. they got the resources, that is what will count when the shtf.

I'd argue that, taking the overall toxicity of the substance into account, the above question is justified...weed is simply not that harmful (to the body). You'd have to smoke 1500lbs. in some 15 Minutes to have any chance of dieing, and then the most likely cause would be suffocation. One could also just compare the substance related deaths of each....people die in the thousands, daily, from tobacco and alcohol, yet there is not one single casualty in the documented history of baking. oh, and btw every drug alters ones personality. and since schizophrenia is far from being a well defined/outlined condition, it's on par with saying "it could make you ill in the head or something...". apart from that, there is no argument for alcohol being legal at all. if invented today, that shit would be banned instantly. this hole selective prohibition thing is just hypocrasy at its best. - Comment on so long as there are leaders there will be war (2011-05-28 06:03:37)
“Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” H.G. [see also: The Lucifer Principle by Howard Bloom] as for the reasons: be it trade, religion or eggs broken on the larger end(never!)...if "we" want war, we'll find a justification. in the end, it really doesn't matter what it is...all wars are but an outward expression of inner conflicts. - Comment on you are enormously significant (2011-05-04 20:54:46)
The universe is cyclic anyway ( i recommend "Aeons Before the Big Bang" by Roger Penrose, brilliant man...no so brilliant presenter) So maybe you're right in the sense that it happened before. might also just be a case for Mr. Mulitverse, who knows - Comment on math - not even once again (2011-04-14 16:01:25)

Gravity is not quite understood...yet; Theory of Evolution is still (very) incomplete; ...and the Big Bang is neither proven nor agreed upon. - Comment on I am Free (2011-03-18 16:27:51)
uh, zeitgeisty...seems like the creator of this is one or two steps ahead in the race towards an imaginatve utopia. most jobs nowadays are obsolete, for one reason or another. mostly because they only exist without any purpose to first place...so i could see why people would think that ditchin' work might be the right thing to do. school as a tool to hammer fear(and despise) of authority into kids' minds is actually kinda scary. i recommend "Waiting For Superman" for further info on that. the rest could be pretty much summed up with: passive conformity. "take the safe route" so to speak. so ...meh. oh, and we (as a society) have pretty much enough of everything to provide for everybody. that means old people that are stupid enough to be "poor" as well. we simply decided that it's a better idea not to do that. go figure... - Comment on mary elizabeth winstead (2010-11-23 18:45:13)
