Right? Obviously, they were catering to the "flasher" crowd. I mean, what the flying fsck? What the actual flying fsck?
  • Comment on Canadian children saying their nightly prayers before going to bed like… (2023-01-11 16:45:23)
They don't even realize how miserable they are struggling under the yoke of socialized medical care.
  • Comment on Tell it to Ted Cruz (2023-01-09 07:49:18)
I have often wondered if there's anyone who doesn't recognize Josh - Chicken Shit - Hawley as the most closeted Senator in the history of closeted Senators. JHFC.
  • Comment on British troops during ww1 (2023-01-08 09:25:20)
Fun fact: "Tanks" are called "tanks", because the British Navy, responsible for these armed, armored "Land Ships", called them tanks in communications, as in water storage tanks, by way of concealing their true purpose from the enemy. Maybe everyone else already knew that... if I'd learned it previously, I'd forgotten until just lately, when I learned it, (possibly again).
  • Comment on The world before chatGPT (2023-01-08 09:10:34)
I'm a little confused by this. Lack of accountability has never, to the best of my knowledge, been a detriment to any *human* manager; why would a computer not benefit from the same thing? I mean, sure, human managers could, *in theory* be held accountable, but does that ever happen?
  • Comment on Jet Fuel can't melt Steel Beams (2023-01-04 08:16:19)
I realize this is an ancient post... but, I cannot help myself. A *house fire* can get hot enough to turn structural steel to taffy. I've literally seen an i-beam used to support a roof section, in the wreckage of a burnt building, draped down the walls and resting on the floor. It was still supported by the walls at either end, at ceiling height, but it was resting on the floor for most of the width of the room. (This is also how blacksmithing works, BTW, and everyone knows: jet fuel burns hotter than coal.)
  • Comment on Luxury villa of influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan raided by Romanian police (2022-12-30 07:45:58)
It'd be a real pity if they put him in prison and then, you know, forgot to feed him, or anything. He's a despicable piece of shite. Reportedly, they found 6 women who were being sexually exploited, when they arrested him. https://www.reuters.com/article/romania-human-trafficking-andrew-tate-idUSKBN2TD16M
  • Comment on GOP text messages prove Republican lawmakers wanted Trump to declare “martial law” to steal a second term (2022-12-24 10:31:26)
TBF: I think more that one of them proposed that Trump declare "Marshall Law", and since we can't say for certain what that is... maybe it's not a crime. Although, then, I suppose one could make an argument for removing them from office inasmuch as they're functionally illiterate.

    So far, so good.

You ain't the boss of me!
  • Comment on Gibson’s Neuromancer coming to Apple TV as a series. (2022-12-20 16:58:37)
Well, they'll just "simplify" the story for the viewers' sake, right? Like amakin' a mouse with one freakin' button. They'll call it "The iNueromancer", or some such shite.
  • Comment on The Sheep Look Up by John Brunner (2022-12-10 17:23:32)
Between this one, and "Stand on Zanzibar", both of which I read back around when they came out, Brunner totally spoiled the surprise; he gave away the entire plot of reality, because we are basically living in the worlds he wrote about, right now.
  • Comment on WHICH IS SMARTER (2022-12-09 07:52:00)
I think it is an indisputable fact that the box of rocks is 100% less likely to say something embarrassing. And, it's unlikely that the bag of racks ever held a gun to anyone's head, or demanded that anyone get an abortion. So, I'd go for the rocks based on character, alone.
  • Comment on The Matrix is here (2022-12-08 07:42:10)
I can't believe anyone is upset by this. As if your washing machine's need to know who you're talking to, and where you are, wasn't entirely obvious. What? You think the company might misuse that data, somehow? Sell it to someone? Other than the lessons of history, why would anyone believe that?
  • Comment on Found this jem in the Meijer lot… (2022-12-02 07:48:49)
A lot of people are saying Trump's going to end up with more felony indictments than any former President, ever. Many, many more than Obama got. They're saying this very strongly. They're going to be beautiful indictments. Believe me.
