@outofocus: Thanks for the NY tip! *wipes up the gush apologetically* - Comment on Multilevel Mall (2008-11-15 12:20:13)
@outofocus: The mall in the picture is Centrepoint. The electronics mall you were gushing about is Funan which is quite close to lots of other nice stuff if you're just touring around, but if you have the time to spare to buy electronics at good prices, the place to go is Sim Lim which has too many floors of sometimes-unscrupulous dealers. But if it's cameras you're looking for, best bet is Cathay. Spread the word to photogs you know who might be going there. - Comment on Booze collection (2008-06-03 10:57:46)
Is that a dildo or a buttplug, bottom row left of centre? - Comment on China is getting Ready for the Olympics (2008-04-25 00:02:08)
@ OmfgWtfZergd, Communist countries were usually labelled "Second World". Until they started falling out with the Russians. - Comment on Rice Dinner (2008-04-13 20:42:35)
Whether it sucks isn't always the same as whether it's healthy. I think the brown colour is because the white rice got fried to a nice brown. Could be browner, in which case it'll suck less. By the way, those are clams in the soup. Why are there two bowls? All in all, it sure ain't gonna suck and you'll have lots of fun pulling the clams out their shells and piling the shells up high. - Comment on Steak Sticks (2008-04-09 03:40:25)
Shashlik? After a while, we're gone from alternative formal names to foreign translations ... - Comment on The Chinese Army Loves You! (2008-03-31 19:44:28)
The uniform's camouflage pattern and colours (not to mention the floor tiles and ethnic appearances) suggest these are Singapore soldiers. - Comment on Flag of Nepal (2008-03-28 03:49:06)
N'palling enough that too many of the major news agencies in Western countries pass off stock footage of Nepali unrest as recent footage of Tibet. It's one thing to confuse a Chinese for a Japanese or Korean (or Tibetan). But passing off someone who looks more Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi for a Chinese takes the cake. - Comment on The Throne Of The Pope (2008-03-25 03:04:28)
njch412, The Vatican made no such list. What did happen was a mid-level cleric said in an interview that the world must recognise that sin arises in many ways (he did not enumerate seven) not previously thought of. The English-language press dressed this up as the Vatican releasing a list of seven new sins. If the Vatican did make it official, there would have been an encyclical. - Comment on Dinner in the Sky (2008-03-14 23:03:16)

She seems to have some sort of gremlin arm reaching up under her skirt onto her right leg (the right leg's to the left of the picture). - Comment on Girl With Sharp Stick (2008-02-24 07:52:49)
@TrikYodz Naginatas are more popular with women than men. In Japan, at least. Hence the babe. ;) - Comment on Girl With Sharp Stick (2008-02-24 04:07:15)
That glaive-like weapon is a Naginata. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naginata - Comment on The Empress (2008-02-14 04:21:42)
Actually, this should be Rule 63 instead of Rule 34. It's a pinup by a French comic artist Paul Cauuet, entitled "Empress of My Dreams". Or so it seems from the site I where saw it - I don't read French that well.
