This was a particular incarnation of the x-men team that Gambit wasn't in. In fact this team fought a team of bad guys Gambit was a part of. He was a bad guy because he's a shitty character but he's popular so the writers can't throw him out but don't know what else to do with him. because of the shittyness.

Whoever coloured this got Venom and Carnage mixed up and coloured them wrong. Which means they fail.
