Absolutely. I can't see any way a rational person who puts aside their feelings about the Tea Party and OWS can't understand that there is a reason the police treated them different. - Comment on women in the army (2011-09-07 00:11:06)

China's economy will have fun if our government debt rating is dropped and all of that debt they own will become worthless. - Comment on Mass Effect 3 (2011-06-18 13:27:43)

"Given that 1 in 2 rapes are committed on CHILDREN under the age of 18, do you really expect your “don’t dress this way” logic to hold?" If I told you over half of the robberies in the U.S. were not caused by someone walking around with a giant wad of cash in their hand it doesn't mean that walking around with a giant wad of cash in your hand is a good idea. Again no one is saying all rapes are because of provocative dress or because women go to bars alone. Obviously there are multiple factors that go into it, mainly being the intention of the rapist to rape someone. Nevertheless that does NOT excuse women from taking reasonable precautions. This is not that complex. I lock my doors at night because I don't want to get robbed. I don't go to the ghetto at night because I don't want to get shot. If I didn't take these precautions and one of these things does happen ultimately it is perpetrator's fault, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't take the precautions. No one here is saying that women can't dress how they want or that they can't go to bars, but damn its not hard to keep some friends around, not take drinks from strangers, and to avoid dark areas. And yes drugs/alcohol would clearly play a huge role in a rapists decision in many cases. That doesn't mean that a girl alone in a bar in a short skirt won't further tempt the guy. To argue otherwise is blithely retarded. - Comment on More Slutwalk Toronto (2011-05-09 17:58:28)
No one is arguing that someone who rapes a sluttily dressed girl shouldn't prosecuted. It is their fault and they should be held accountable by the legal system. That does not change the fact that being stupid and putting yourself in dangerous situations is both dangerous and stupid. If I walked through the ghetto holding $200, I would expect to get robbed. I would also be a complete idiot and deserve to get slapped in the head, but that doesn't mean that the robber doesn't deserve to go to jail. Similarly a girl who walks around a dangerous part of town at night, alone, in a short skirt, should expect that something bad might happen. I would hope her mom, older sister, or friends would slap some sense into her, but if that doesn't happen it makes rape much more likely. That doesn't mean she's responsible, but it means she has a lot to learn about life. - Comment on liberal vs conservative 1 (2011-05-02 15:08:02)
These stupid political posts need to stop. Its MMMMMMMMUUUUURRRRRRRIIIIICCCCCCCAAAAAAA day. More pictures making fun of Osama - Comment on Obama's Birth Certificate As Analyzed By A Birther (2011-04-28 23:30:28)
In either case technically the birth certificate is in issue. It would make sense to me to require all candidates for President submit a birth certificate to a Congressional panel, but alas. - Comment on Obama's Birth Certificate As Analyzed By A Birther (2011-04-28 20:01:14)
I never thought he wasn't born here, but there is that whole Constitution thing that says the President has to be born in America..... so yes the location of his birth is rather important. - Comment on reagan, bush, and obama (2011-04-23 21:48:51)
I predict overly serious discussion of what is a mildly humorous photo that deserves no serious responses. Let the PWNING BEGIN!!!!!!! - Comment on glorious PC gaming master race vs Dirty console gaming peasants (2011-03-31 08:48:52)
If you haven't actually seen Zero Punctuation he's very much being sarcastic about how superior PC Gaming is to console gaming. Pay $200 for a console once oooooorrrrr pay hundreds upgrading and reupgrading a PC to keep up with PC game specs. Easily going with the console - Comment on why save pbs (2011-03-30 23:27:03)
I am completely aware of why, in reality, it won't happen. However I can still hold out hope that sanity reigns and fair and equitable decisions are made instead of choices solely for personal benefit. *Gets off of idealism horse* Wait we are totally fucked. - Comment on why save pbs (2011-03-30 18:48:57)
I still fail to understand why the NASCAR thing is a big deal? The Armed Forces have enlistment advertisements everywhere. Why is one that is targeted at one of if not their biggest supporters(rednecks) such a big deal? Also PBS will be perfectly fine without public support, hell they might be better off without it. Also if there is one demographic of Americans that haven't taken their fair brunt of the economic downturn/government cuts its the elderly so hopefully they will take their fair share soon too.
