It's always kind of surprised me that camouflage is a sufficiently effective survival strategy to have been selected for. After all, while it's a great way to avoid being spotted by predators, it's also a great way to get crushed to death by something bigger than you that's out for a walk and can't see you.

YAY! Thank you for the hotlinking -- I like following M[c]S on Google Reader. I went and signed up for a Dropbox as soon as I read this post. :) As for ads, IMO it's too many, but whatever. I tune them out. *shrug*
