Not on ATT. If the GPS "feature" isn't enabled (as in you paying for said "feature") then the GPS does not work at all, no matter what software you load on it. Might be different with the Droid phones they have now, but they're standalone GPS and not aGPS anyway. As a side note, the aGPS and the maps that were on my Tundra were both accurate and fairly detailed. But it was $10/month that I didn't want to spend.

“Some aGPS devices do not have the option of falling back to standalone or autonomous GPS.” Exactly. Moto Tundra and Nokia Mural now sit in a drawer because of this. I tried loading 3rd party apps to use the GPS, but without that "feature" enabled by AT&T, shit wouldn't work. No f-n way was I paying $10/month for aGPS on their network (dropped calls, no signal, etc) where I live. I don't love Verizon, but it does work for me, and Google maps on the Droid is free. BTW, I love the satellite imagery in lieu of the vector gfx. Also spot on regarding the maps via internet. However, if Tiki is loading a ton of addresses, wouldn't that kind of imply that he'd probably be in an area with cell/data coverage? Just sayin, though might have missed something. - Comment on I need a GPS (2010-11-30 16:12:05)
He's talking about aGPS (assisted GPS) which well and truly blows. My Droid2 can do aGPS, but also does pure GPS, and does it pretty damned good even out in the mountains. - Comment on shitshitsh (2010-11-30 16:08:20)
