It amazes me how many people could care less about people that they don't know. I guess that's why it amazes me even more when I come across someone who does care about someone they don't know. I don't know the man in the picture. Not personally. I do know that he wears the uniform of a Marine though. I don't know the current numbers, but about 2 years ago, only about a half a percent of the US served in the military. Maybe he joined for the college money. I don't know him so I can't say if he did or didn't. I know it's not for the awesome pay though. I know that civilian contractors for the military with the same job as me make about 3x what I make, but their job description lacks several things that mine does not. Our politicians may not have good ideals or values, but I do know that our soldiers do regardless of branch of the military they serve. There are the few that are not quite right in the head, but far and few between are like that. In 8 years of military service, I have yet to meet a soldier that would not willingly give their life to protect those around them. I know that there are a few that serve that would not, but I honestly believe that the Marine in the picture above is not one of those that would not give his life to protect those around him. Don't judge the members of our military based off of the actions of our politicians.

not too bad a shop job. color clearness is a little off with the truck in the pic. i think the front tire looks funny and the dude imposed in the truck is a pretty small guy or they didnt side him right. the edges are a little rough on the cut too. i have big truck, but its only big enough to get me where i want to go. i like to offroad. its not flashy though. - Comment on I have no idea what's going on around here (2009-11-05 10:42:29)

Read the whole caption. There is a really interesting part that says the picture was take in 1972. Plus I don't recall saying anything about BurritoCzar's comment. - Comment on Jonestown (2009-10-30 09:34:04)
I'm still trying to figure out Dreth's comment, "US Army personnel, dead? No tragedy there." - Comment on the only person standing is the main in a wheel chair (2009-10-28 17:10:25)
Wow, is it really that bad in America? That you aren't willing to do something as simple as stand for your flag as it passes? I went to a town in France for a memorial. It is a small town. You may have heard of it at some point in time. It's name is St. Mere Eglise. During the time I was there, there were American soldiers there in uniform. There were other countries soldiers there in uniform as well, but what surprised me was when the American soldiers marched by, the people of St. Mere Eglise were cheering and shouting, some even saluting the American flag as it passed by. What is it that they don't know? Or perhaps the better question is what is it that you don't know? - Comment on C64 (2009-10-12 16:49:38)

Are those Yingling caps i see? My prefered choice of cheap beer on the east coast. I agree with the post about just keeping one cap for each kind of beer. Saying you drank 200 coors isnt much but saying you have drank 200 different types of beers says a lot more. Try to find some imports. A city named Bamberg in Germany makes a really good smoked beer.
