It's a type of discarding sabot. Since the missile itself ins't perfectly round, and would honestly get stuck inside the launch tube if they were fired like a gigantic gun, they put them little pieces all around it to plug up whole, through with gasses would escape. Gun nuts can agree, you need those gasses to help propel the missiles from the tube before the main rocket ignites and sends this bitch off to make the "nuclear ocean."

War is a terrible thing. Being under attack, fending off assaults, knowing you are the person who just literally made another person stop living... It takes a huge toll on those who do it. Most become desenstized to the violence, as it becomes second nature. Some break down into violent sobs on the field and cannot continue to defend themselves. What is better? Kill to win, knowing it's bad, until it gets to the point where killing is no longer bad? Infact, it may even feel fun? Or kill to win, knowing it's bad, until it gets to the point where killing..kills you? Some people go to war and come home fine, and others go to war and come home still at war.

The longest recorded sniper kil was recorded by a Canadian Sniper in operation something-or-another in Iraqistan. Shot six times, killed three men from just about 3 kilos [over a mile and a half] and he was using a Barrett M82A1A. [yeah, there's a second 'A'. Means this Barret M82 had a heavier barrel and a different locking bolt system than the M82A1.]

And Vygramul, the Yamato would have torn apart the Iowa-class. In fact, the reason Japan bombed Pearl Harbor was to take out the battleships because they had believed the Naval battles would be won and lost by the firepower of the battleships. Since they took out or crippled the mass of our battleships, it didn't really make a difference because we were planning on using or Aircraft carriers and submarines to take out their superior firepower. We knew we could not take their battleships head-on, se we relied on stealth and aerial assaults on them. They mis-judged us, took out the ships we were not going to rely on, and then go slaughtered by undersea and aerial asaults. Yamato herself was taken down by aircraft, her sistership the Musashi was taken down by submarines, and the third Yamato-class [which was halted mid-construction and converted to a 78,000 ton carrier] was also sank by submarine.

Mike; I know. I'm American, and [SURPRIZEZZZ] I'm joining the Navy, AND [maor surprizerz] as a Gunner's Mate. So I'm gunna be on the deck of a battleship firin' off the 16-inch gunz at foreigners. I've also been working out hard the past month or so, running and lifting hard so I can attempt to meet and beat US Navy SEALs qualifying times. Then I can volunteer for SEALs, and be a badass kilin machine.

This is how the US Military works: First the Air Force does flyovers and takes pictures. Second we send in the Marines, and they kill everything that moves. Third, the Army goes in, pulls up a flag and stands around like they've done something. Meanwhile the Navy sits back and controls the world. The Coast Gaurd sleeps in.
