True it is hard to compare cities, let alone nations. But the truth is apparent. The income gap between rich and poor in the US has grown out of balance, and to a point of being unsustainable. We can just look how the elderly are treated in Japan compared with treatment in the US and you will know where a nation's heart lies. Must also remember who suffered from the atomic bomb and who dropped it. Not saying Japan, like many other nations, are not guilt free from conducting atrocities on civilians either. With regards to welfare, we are a nation of racists that are obsessed with material wealth. As our country ages, we still battle the dark foundation of slavery but in modern form for decent treatment and wages in the workplace. I blame the system that has put people down, and propped up corporations instead. But I blame my fellow citizens that are blind. We rather get fat and stand in line for material possessions or recreational escape than stand up and fight for what is right. We live in a plutocracy with an illusion of freedom. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now I see. - Comment on Girls of the World (2014-03-17 16:57:29)
To control is to have power. By instigating the "us versus them" mind set in any given population is an old stratagem known as Divide and Conquer. The tactical approach can easily equate to a portion of society or as a whole nation. In the USA, its the banks and corporations that have the control. If one follows funding, the two dominating political parties in this country all get fed by the same beasts. The true division is universal and its greed vs. compassion. - Comment on Operation Redwing (2014-02-19 17:16:39)
No matter your politics, Warriors will always be willing to fight and die for our country. Some even die in training operations (elite troops included). Warriors walk the path of true altruism. Our nation's priorities are backwards though and pop stars/pro sports get more attention. I blame spending too heavy on the military complex, and not enough on education. That and our obsession with materialism and money. My eyes are wide open and I walk the same path. I had a short stint in the US NAVY myself (BUD/S Winter CLASS 211 in 1996-1997). I did not achieve the Trident but you do not have to be a SEAL to be a Warrior. - Comment on well armed car (2014-02-03 20:34:09)
I had shot an MP-5 once and still my favorite gun. I was fortunate that the instructor in a gun history/safety college class was not only a retired San Jose PD, but had strong connections with the ATF. Also fired that day a Tech-9, a street sweeper (auto shotgun), and an AR-15. I favor the MP-5 over all that day for accuracy and ease. And Of course this class was years ago before college shootings. - Comment on A storm is coming, our storm. (2013-10-06 01:14:08)

What do you think? I think peaceful protest can be part of the solution - violence only hardens the extremists on both sides. But protest alone, even peaceful, is only part of any solution if truly needed at all. Look at the Occupy Movement. It made a splash for awhile but I don't believe any positive legislation has become of it. - Comment on unironic biceps closeup (2013-08-15 19:38:18)
