I've had no problem at all the past few days, must be something at your end. And on-topic, I never knew Verizon came out of AT&T being split up.

failtroll is obvious. The Xeon processors are top-of-the-range, and cost as such. It isn't Apple pricing them ridiculously (although they are partly), but that's what they sell for from other vendors also.

Intel Xeon x5770 (the Quad core 2.93GHz) costs roughly $1,300, whereas the 2.26 is only about $300. Yeah sure you're paying $2,600 extra when it's only worth $2,000 more, but that's what happens when you buy a pre built computer. As for the RAM, yeah that's extortionate. Same for the RAID card. And the HDDs. And the graphics. And the optical drive. And the monitors.... ...I'm sure there was a point to this somewhere. Anyway, love Apple products, hate Apple themselves. Because of shit like this.

Wrong. That would be like saying you need to write one hundred and twenty-three in the decimal system as 00000123. You don't need to make it up to a byte unless you're a computer and saving it to your memory. Humans can cope without binary being in bytes.
  • Comment on Binary Date (2010-10-03 12:20:14)
That's true, but you could always just sort them chronologically rather than numerically. Just saying...

That way at least makes sense, most significant number to the left like in the decimal and binary (for instance), much more than sticking the least significant in the middle and the two most at beginning and end.
