Syringe is filled w/ CO2, injected into bottle and an equal amount of liquid withdrawn. We didn't buy the bottle we had. Her ex husband's cousin died and we raided his wine cellar. The stuff we had wasn't all that bitter, aging is apparently good for it. Very smooth and after a quarter bottle we didn't even bother adding sugar. More like tripping than being drunk. Screw the liver, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Yup, 105 years old when we cracked the bottle. - Comment on Laurel and Hardy (2009-01-11 12:52:09)
IMO, Along with http://www.busterkeaton.com/ these guys were the greatest comic actors of their day. Brilliant timing. - Comment on Hansi - the girl who loved the swastika (2009-01-08 21:36:02)
Nazis used god in their oaths: I swear by God this sacred oath that I shall render unconditional obedience to Adolf Hitler, the Führer of the German Reich and people, supreme commander of the armed forces, and that I shall at all times be ready, as a brave soldier, to give my life for this oath. The guy that bottles this stuff makes a fortune on the label. It's swill and practically undrinkable according to a friend of mine. Keep it long enough and maybe you can make money on it's collectability. - Comment on Pere Lachaise (2009-01-04 16:14:10)
@imandynan0.. I remember that. Very cool. Here are a couple pics of that monument. http://flickr.com/photos/crivelli/2828412130/ - Comment on Pere Lachaise (2009-01-04 11:59:54)
@wartoaster.. Victor Noir, Myth says that placing a flower in the upturned top hat after kissing the statue on the lips and rubbing its genital area will enhance fertility, bring a blissful sex life, or, in some versions, a husband within the year. As a result of the legend, those particular components of the oxidized bronze statue are rather well-worn. Some visitors have seen women hike up their skirts and mount the statue as if engaging in intimate congress. In 2005 a fence was erected around the statue of Noir, to deter people from touching the statue. Due to the protests of the female population of Paris however, it was torn down again.[2] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Noir - Comment on In N Out (2009-01-01 02:54:54)
Those cheese fries would be a lot better swimming in a pint of pork gravy. - Comment on Cross of Iron (2008-12-31 00:31:33)
@nyokki. Good one. That pretty much sums up Peckinpah's later stuff. Wild Bunch, C of I, etc... He was the bloodiest director of his day. Almost G rated though compared to what they are putting out now. - Comment on Christmas Lookout House (2008-12-24 14:11:21)
The red building in front contains a generator. The house has indoor plumbing. - Comment on Christmas Lookout House (2008-12-24 12:21:01)

@storminator I'll have to give that a try. Perhaps stuff the bottle with fiberglass insulation. Fireproof and might distribute the shock wave better than paper. - Comment on Massive Tank (2008-12-21 14:26:00)
As far as I know the Elephant was the largest ever built and used in battle. Both the Maus and the Ratte never went beyond the prototype phase. I saw an Elephant at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. It is indeed massive. It uses the same chassis as the Tiger but had a fixed turret making it an assault gun. - Comment on Massive Tank (2008-12-21 14:04:18)
