Actually, Magnus, I don't think you're ignorant of the facts at all and I agree with your colorful assessment of the reason why so many (the majority?) of pit bull owners are pathetically compensating for something. I just don't agree that fact justifies euthanizing individual dogs on sight without knowing anything of their individual behavior, let alone eliminating an entire breed, just because of the moronic behavior of their owners. Sort of like your point in #3 with respect to the "behavior" of guns versus the tiny minority of idiots who use them to destructive ends... - Comment on The Most Dangerous Dog in the World (2008-03-30 15:27:08)
As usual, Magnus is speaking from his heart rather than his head, but that's OK, the rest of us can easily see the difference between uninformed personal opinion and reality... - Comment on The Most Dangerous Dog in the World (2008-03-30 14:47:09)
The only dangerous thing about these dogs are the cretins that abuse them into being vicious individual animals. Even Vick's egregiously maltreated dogs are recovering nicely -- see http://www.bestfriends.org/vickdogs/. - Comment on Flag of Nepal (2008-03-28 19:47:47)
Roger that, Caio. I stand corrected...sorry about that. - Comment on Flag of Nepal (2008-03-28 18:31:03)
@ Caio, I believe it's Italy that's recalling its tainted mozzarella cheese, not Nepal... - Comment on Busty Wedding Dress (2008-03-26 18:36:32)
Yeah, Seth, I also noticed the drinking guy in the background looks like he's wearing a polyester track suit which is a dead giveaway, too... - Comment on Busty Wedding Dress (2008-03-26 09:42:22)
Something tells me this is a Russian wedding photo: the groom's haircut (as garbled points out); the guy drinking from an open bottle in the background; hell, the bride's dress itself...all scream "Russian wedding" to me... - Comment on Serious Fox Is Serious (2008-03-22 11:34:09)
@ Brevity, re: #16, I like the way you think! @ Caio: I like the way you write; nice work! - Comment on Serious Fox Is Serious (2008-03-21 22:31:41)
Yes, Brevity...let's just hope the results are more effective than Moscow '80 or Los Angeles '84... Here's the basics on that god-awful railway, fyi: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibet_railway - Comment on Serious Fox Is Serious (2008-03-21 21:43:15)
@Brevity: Agreed about being lucky. The final death knell, of course, sounded in summer 2006 when the rail link from lowland China was completed all the way to Lhasa, effectively opening the floodgates to unrestricted Chinese colonization. We can only hope that the Beijing Olympics will refocus world attention on the plight of the Tibetan people and their culture... - Comment on Serious Fox Is Serious (2008-03-21 20:01:28)
@ Brevity, Tibet is a beautiful, beautiful place with wonderful, kind, generous people whose culture is sadly being decimated by an ever-increasing invasion of ethnic Chinese. - Comment on Serious Fox Is Serious (2008-03-21 18:49:48)
Interesting, Jazzy...thanks for that. - Comment on Serious Fox Is Serious (2008-03-21 18:43:06)
I saw one of these last summer near a place called Menshi is southwest Tibet. Very freaky looking; like his head is twice too big for his body... - Comment on Proof That The Earth Is Round (2008-03-14 12:13:49)
Thanks, penguin. I'll see if I can capture a photo...
