@moe: why do you feel the need to start shit? so you can crash while speeding excessively on an interstate in in an overcrowded state. bfd. i have been riding for 8 years on the road, and mx before that. 1 crash when a buddy pulled out in front of me. multiple big crashes do not make you a hero. 120 on a busy interstate is more a marker of idiocy, though i've done that too. you don't know me. - Comment on Daytona Bike Week (2009-03-10 08:51:22)
Ha screw you dyna-mole! Second most embarrassing story, I pulled up at a gas station after a 70 mile ride in 18 degree F weather, completely numb, pushed the kickstand down and stepped off the bike and realized I hadn't actually put the stand down, just watched as my bike fell over... sad times... - Comment on Daytona Bike Week (2009-03-09 19:52:36)
Speaking of bags though: I did have my luggage fall off on main street in front of 1000s of people... heard a clanging behind me, my spare helmet and backpack were dragging by a strap about 10 feet behind me, and a guy was running beside them with my duffle bag to give it to me. My most embarrassing bike incident to date... - Comment on Daytona Bike Week (2009-03-09 19:51:06)
Wow. Yeah, locked rear wheel is the best to have, if you've gotta have one. I was a bit nervous, 'cause I already had about 5000 miles on the rear before this trip, and another 1300 in the previous 3 days. I managed to do it on a relatively car-free part of the interstate. My bike did catch on fire as soon as I stopped though, from the oil pouring onto the exhaust. - Comment on Daytona Bike Week (2009-03-09 19:42:22)
@outoffocus: yes. @Akircher: it WAS a 95 yamaha seca 2, 600cc. @Marroc: exactly. @poolahi and nobody knows: exactly right. @compaasseagle: Yes, this year. @The_wanderer: yeah, trailer week is right. I, however, rode my little bike 800 miles to Daytona. It was an incredibly long ride, and I was 140 miles from home when my bike threw a rod and locked up the rear tire at 85 mph. All in all great trip though.
