The Infinite Thread Part 1

There’s been a thought knocking around the back of my head that I should bring back the forums, but comments on MCS are so low velocity that having an entire section just for forums seems like over kill.  I think I’m going to steal an idea from freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngula/ and just make a single post where everyone can comment whatever nonsense comes to their mind and even add images (I think?  someone other than me should test this out on this post).  I’ll close the old one and open a new one when it gets to a certain number (TBD) of comments.

So the goal is to just comment and talk about whatever the fuck you want to talk about here.  I’ll start it off with a comment about a new website that I launched over lunch.

    “Memories” Review

Memories: Directed by Katsuhiro Ôtomo, Kôji Morimoto, Tensai Okamura. With Tsutomu Isobe, Shôzô Îzuka, Kôichi Yamadera, Shigeru Chiba. Three separate science-fiction stories by three prominent Japanese animators.

TikTok hit me with the bomber short from this anthology and it seemed interesting enough to watch and I really did not expect the other two shorts to be as emotionally intense as they were. There’s subtitles, but it’s worth your time if you enjoy watching spaceship horror, mysterious political allegories, or darkly humorous genocide stories.

“Superman & Lois” Season 4 Review

Superman & Lois: Created by Greg Berlanti, Todd Helbing. With Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Alex Garfin, Inde Navarrette. The world’s most famous superhero and comic books’ most famous journalist face the pressures and complexities that come with balancing work, justice, and parenthood in today’s society.

This show obviously has to get out of the way of the upcoming Superman movie (which the first trailer looked about as good as this tv show was in the first season) and they did justice to the characters and their storylines and wrapped everything up as neatly as I could hope for. My one big complaint is that for the vast majority of his screen time, Lex Luthor had a full head of hair and a goofy beard, so it was difficult to wrap my head around who he was and how he was acting with how I expected him to be. That’s a small complain though in consideration of how well Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch played off each other.
