Bernard Shaw, a pioneering Black TV broadcast journalist and CNN’s first chief anchor, died of pneumonia not related to COVID-19. He was 82.

    I remember watching CNN in college during the first Gulf War. Bernard Shaw did a full report from under his bed inthe hotel room he was in Kuwait. He wasn’t ashamed of the fact he was in fear for his life and the lives of the reporters and crew staying in that same hotel. The man is a legend.
