I too wanted to know. I found this other picture of it on someone’s flickr page with this explanation: “A field just outside Chester where there is always a huge piece of art made of Hay. This time they’d made a huge hay version of Jodrell Bank radio telescope.” Looks like the answer is that it’s art.
Every bone of me doesn’t think that would work. But I can’t help to ask if it actually would. Gotta keep an open mind about that. So I regret setting it on fire later atleast.

Should work, since radio waves have such long periods that the imperfections from the hay won’t make a difference.
by periods you mean the wave length?
