I’m reminded of the online petition that came out just prior to the release of this movie. Some individual wanted to force Peter Jackson to rename the movie because they felt he was trying to cash in on the (then) recent World Trade Center attack. I wanted to believe it was a joke, but I know there really are people out there that are that oblivious.
I’ve heard that there’s no full consensus on which towers are the “two towers” in the book title… people generally assume it’s Orthanc and Barad-Dûr, but they could also be referring to Cirith Ungol or Minas Morgul or any one of another half dozen towers mentioned in the books. Another argument against Barad-dûr is that Frodo doesn’t get there until the third book, Return of the King.
The two main villains in The Two Towers are Saruman and Sauron. Makes more sense that the two towers are referring to Orthanc and Barad-Dûr, because they reference both villains home bases. Making those other two towers moot.

It refers to Minas Ithil (Morgul) and Minas Tirith, atleast that is what Tolkien was referring to.
Oh and Cirith Ungol is “the valley of the spider” or something like that.
And altho i dont have the energy to find the proof of the statement in my previous post, those are the two towers that essentially “collide” in this part of the story. Its the stronghold of the witch king, the dark lords warlord.
Barad Dur is mostly just the dark lords residence at this time. The Black Gate is not an exit point for his armies since the dwarves, elves and men hold no strength in the north at the time of the war of the ring.
