It was just rally weekend here in Letterkenny. Rally drivers are usually smart enough or at least decent enough people. It’s the fucking bogger types (usually from the back arse of nowhere, like Leitrim) that turn up in a fiesta with a spoiler and talk about how they’re better drivers than the pros but couldn’t drive fucking nails that piss me off.

the fact that you made that statement is grounds for the the fuck uper-y. i work for nascar as a firefighter and while i dont get into the sport i happen to know that most drivers who are in the cup race know EVERYTHING about their cars. they know when things need fine tuning and adjustment so they can perform better and place higher in the race. most of those drivers have been racing most of their lives not only in nascar but in the racing minors like the camping world series. dont get me wrong there are some drivers that just sit in their expensive ass trailers and wait for the green flag but most on race weekend are right there in the garage with the rest of the crew going over the car and making sure it is in tip top shape.
I’m not saying that anyone with modifications on their car is an idiot, I’m saying that spending more than you car is worth on mods which will have no benefit because you only drive the route from your house to the shop and back at 40 mph makes you an idiot.

Second, I would rather have a fuel efficient hybrid with HOV stickers and a body kit/spoiler/wing/rims/system then a mustang (like I do now) or other car that is actually used for other purposes than performance driving.
Some people actually know what they are talking about. Just because they sound like they are bragging doesn’t mean they are completely full of shit. I don’t see why it gets people so mad if they are just full of shit. Life isn’t a contest to prove who is correct.
Like I said, question someone if you know more than they do, or do some research and question them later. I looked up spoilers and wings before I posted in this thread, and I already had pretty good knowledge of front wheel drive and rear wheel drive cars as well as downforce and lift and such of spoilers/wings.

On the Nascar Comment: Although Nascar is a drive left for 5 hours contest for the most part, it still requires intrinsic knowledge and familiarity with the car they drive, just like any other racer, such as F-1, F-3 any WRC (These may know the most) etc. Also, as much as I hate to admit it, Nascar does have mixed courses.
