never enjoyed the thought that people pay so much money for 1/8 of the food which is considered elegant.
if you get a large single serving of one thing, as opposed to several smaller servings of different things, you don’t get a lot of choice, right? plus it adds up to about the same amount of food… only delicious.
I imagine the price comes from the rarity; and it’s nice to have the experience. I tried sea urchin (which should be called sea urchin genitals which, I found out later, is the only edible part of the thing). It tasted like…raw sea creature balls.
I’ll have the scallops please. That is some tasty looking food, shame it’s on the other side of the world from me.
i have an idea: pack all that up in a nice ball of tin foil and send it my way. japan’s not that far off, right?
Heh, heh… cream sauce.
i like the teeny tiny square of pommes dauphinoise with the confit. yum

Obligatory omnomnom. It all looks really tasty.
I fail to see the point of gourmet food. You can get one of these “dishes”, which probably costs three times as much and features a third of the amount of food as a regular burger joint, or you could go get a burger and fries and actually feel satisfied about your meal.
All of this stuff looks disgusting.
It’s very difficult to make food look good on camera. Food producers/companies go through a lot to make their food look even edible on film.
Damn you. I had fucking Chik-Fil-A for dinner. Thanks for making me think about this.
I’ll take a number 3 and a number 5; but I’d never pay for it. All in all tough, this does look beter then the stuff I usually see offered.
Also; not going to post recipes? How do we know you really make it?
I am not ashamed to admit that my idea of a good meal out is a diner where I am out 5 bucks for dinner and can not eat desert because I am to full.
Just Beautiful.
