I just wish there was a politician in my neighborhood that responsible: one of the cops on my hometown force isn’t allowed to carry a gun because he broke into his ex-wife’s house with a hatchet and threatened her and her daughter. Yet, despite a court conviction of assault with a deadly weapon, he wasn’t fired.

How else would you explain the solid South going from always voting Democrat to always voting Republican?
It’s because there was a huge shift in party lines, as happens every 40-60 years, and is happening again, that had people like Strom Thurmond go from a Democratic Senator to a Republican Senator. Why is that? Because the Republican party embraced whole heartedly the religious right and racists (not always related, but often). Sarah Palin probably would have been a Democrat pre-1965 because of their differing attitudes toward race & religion. Not that there was a strong divide between them post 1900 or so, but again another factor you conveniently chose to ignore.

The fact is that the Republican party of today is not pro-race, as would be evident in them getting a majority of 15% of the black vote BEFORE the last election with Barack Obama.

Well obviously a website named Conservapedia is far from non-biased but if you don’t think that there is a liberal bias in some of the media you are kidding yourself. That doesn’t mean that when they bring up a legitimate issue or they are wrong, but just don’t expect them to give you the full story. When i watch fox news i am not going to expect them to report on the more positive things the left wing has done let alone fairly represent the left wing.
