@...Vizer: First and last one, they changed the rules from World Fantasy Awards so no other comic book can win that prize ever again after the “a midsummer’s night dream” issue from sandman, at least not in the short fiction category.
I hate Neil Gaiman, because I know that one day, I’m going to drop the $400 dollars on the Ultimate Sandman collection. Well, probably $300, because I’ll get it off Amazon. And that is seriously an insane amount of money to pay for anything that doesn’t have electronic parts or repair living flesh, but it’ll be so worth it in the end.
I’ve read them all, I just need to buy them. @...Kishi: Yeah, the Ultimate Collection is going to cost me, but it will be completely worth it. Neil Gaiman is a genius.
@...Kishi: As a book lover, a part of me died when I read this. Then again, I’m the guy who buys new copies of books when their jackets are worn and dreams about owning a 19th century copy of the Fantasmagoriana, so $400 for some Gaiman greatness seems perfectly logical to me.
Oh god, i think i have every single collection. Before i read watchmen this really changed my perception of what comic books can and should be.
This looks amazing.
My god, how have I never heard of this?
This graphic novel is excellent. It was the first comic to ever win a literary award.
I love this series so much.
The whole series is a mind bender.
This series really got me reading comics, and is still my favorite. I love everything Neil Gaiman does.
This collection has a tale where Manara does the art, and much rooting takes place in as many panels as possible.

Death’s all grown up, I see. With Manara on the pens, I bet even Delirium looks sexy.
@...Vizer: @...Zenmetzu: Was this before Maus?
And yeah, Sandman’s terrific stuff. I got everything up through “Kindly Ones” before drifting off comics altogether for a spell…
Greatest comic ever. And this may be the best picture that Frank Quietly has ever done.
@HoChunk: Maus started much earlier than Sandman, but it didn’t win the Pulitzer until 1992. Sandman won the World Fantasy Award in 1991.
@...phaed: Manara only did a story about Desire, and it is sexy.
@...RSIxidor: I hadn’t for a long time. And I still have a lot of catching up to do!
Such a great story, and wonderful art, too. They just don’t make them like this anymore.

I have never heard of this… gotta go look it up… looks cool!

This comic what I love about the median, the ability to tell suck dark stories that book or movie can’t.
“You could have him for a packet of cigarettes….I Did”

Sandman = WIN.
Morpheus is awesome.
Like a goth ziggy stardust.
