I’ve always had a jail bait crush on Kristen Stewart.
Supposedly Twilight is so omg totally awesome and stuff. But that’s coming from teenage girls. So it must be a not so good vampire flick. Okay, back to reading The Vampire Lestat.
After Anne Rice chemically-neutered vampires with her novels, this franchise pretty much ripped out the useless remains of their testicles and burned them in a bonfire. What really grinds my gear is that what Rice, Meyer and countless others are doing is taming a concept that embodies sexual predators. Vampires are metaphors for sexual predators, not bloody tortured souls that should be adored by teenagers. *end rant*
@...Silverwolf: They are whatever we make them. To say Anne Rice’s vampires aren’t sexual predators is ridiculous. That’s practically her definition. I haven’t read a single Rice book that wasn’t chock full of sex, of all kinds.
Ann Rice rocked until she became a born-again christian and refused to acknowledge her vamp books. Twilight the movie is awfully cheesy. Twilight the book seems like a very personal love story, and it IS geared toward teen girls so your general dislike is understandable.
I’m on Ann Rices second book of Vampire Chronicles. Her novels read like twisted gothic sensual murderous poetry. I read the back covers of the twilight books and a couple pages from the inside, it reads like a teeny bopper vampire romance book. To compare the two is just silly.
Ann Rice definitely needs to go back to reading about Vampires and Witches.
@...Puulaahi: Hey, don’t get me wrong. She certainly started out good. I love her first two books, but from the Queen of the Damned onwards, her vampires lost their… edge, so to speak. It felt like they strayed off the path and mood of the IwtV and tVL, and that turned me from a fan to a disappointed former fan.
@...Silverwolf: Really? I loved Pandora and Blood and Gold, plus her Witching Hour series, no to mention Cry to heave (which may be her best novel overall).
@...nyokki: I’m afraid I lost interest after reading Merrick, so I never read any of the books you mentioned. Hmmm… once I’m out of books to read, I might get Pandora and Blood and Gold. Who knows? Maybe I’ll like them.
@...Silverwolf: Yeah Merrick kinda sucked, as did Blackwood Farm, but I don’t know many authors that never wrote a bad book. What I’m hoping for is after a respite, she comes back w/ some really good new stories and characters.
Aw man it was in the theatres where you are? Sweet. They never screened it here even though it’s a European movie. I had to download it. But still, most beautiful movie I’ve seen all year. As in, 2008.
I need to organize an intervention for a girl i know, who has seem the movie 6 times, has read the books 4 times and has pre ordered the DVD. Although this whole blood drinking thing is a metaphor for abstinence, ITS FUCKING STUPID

THEY SPARKLE WHEN THEY GO INTO SUNLIGHT!
This is just another teeny bopper shit movie/book.
Like Anne Rice.
Bunch. Of. Assholes.

Oh and I have no clue what Twilight is.
Screw your rant. Ann Rice rules.
Screw people that read books.

@...CttrCallie: Yeah, I never bought her book on Jesus. Hopefully, she’ll regain her senses and go back to her vampires and witches.

Vampire movies for 16 year old girls! FUCK THAT SHIT.
Based on books written by some Mormon lady? FUCK NO.
This is not what books or movies should be about. To make this much money by stealing naive 16 year old girls’ souls is the ugliest way to get rich.
How about a decent vampire movie, that actually has a real story and you won’t forget, like ‘Let The Right One in’.

@...dieAntagonista: I have seen the trailer for Let The Right One In. Looked awesome and really really dark. Bummed I missed it in the theater here.

@...dieAntagonista: I’ll definitely check it out then.
I fully support the fappage of Jackson Rathbone.
Carry on.

@...Jesus Christ: no, fail. bad failure jesus.
@...GorillaMunch: Seriously? WTF.
@...dieAntagonista: Just dl’d Let the Right One In. I’ll watch it tonight or tomorrow. While I was at it I found a DVD quality copy of Taken
@...nyokki:
NO WAY. That is so awesome. I’m itching to know what you think of it. Make sure to tell me, after you watched and absorbed it.
And you mean Taken from 2008? With the former spy guy?
@...dieAntagonista: Yep yep, the one w/ Liam Neeson.
@...nyokki: Woman, you got exceptional taste. I’ve already seen it, and loved it. Enjoy.
