are you saying that more populated urban areas where people are closer together may have higher infection rates than areas with 5 miles between neighbors , where did you come up with such wisdom??
No. I’m saying that places that voted republican, having higher social standards of behavior also have lower infections rates.
Part of proper social behavior is proper living space. If you can hear your neighbor’s leaf blower, with your windows closed, you’re close enough to catch their germs. Or suffer from their sewage over flow. Or whatever.
Not particularly, and considering travel has moved on from the horse and walking, there truly is not much justification for the dangerous & unsanitary conditions present in cities regardless of how well designed or the quality of people living there.
Do the math about how much land the federal government controls. Exclude military bases and post offices. When I did it a couple years back, the fed could give every single person in America several acres, free and clear and STILL have land left over.
he won jacksonville and it has the highest infection rate in north florida and the city takes up the whole county. plus he took tampa and they were showing positives even before jax. kind of blows all your theories out of the water
If Trump hadn’t been in denial and worried about his rallies and golf clubs instead of American lives we could have nipped this in the bud. I personally know die hard Republican Health Care workers that agree with that statement and will never vote for Donald Trump again.
And all the Trumpers that believed him are starting to be affected greatly by the virus, many directly because they believed Trump and Conservative media. Fox News has changed their tune because their lawyers have advised them they will be open to lawsuits from people that got sick because they believed their programming.
So there’s that.
If it was legitimate we would be quarantining sick people in their homes, and shooting people that left their state of residence.
I personally advocate that shooting people from NY or NJ on sight anyway. I’ve been living under a state of emergency for more then 2 years because of the “opioid epidemic”. And those drugs all come with NY and NJ plates.
Remember that time Obama dropped the ball on a pandemic, the Stock Market crashed, unemployment claims set records, and hundreds of thousands of people died?
Yeah, neither do I.
I remember both the avian and swine flu, both of which were more deadly, but the media didn’t have an ax to grind.
I also remember Ebola outbreaks under both trump and Obama, but that shit is legitimately scary so no one fucked around playing media spin games.
And check your dates. The market crashed because opec is breaking up and Russia and the saudis are dumping oil on the market. Might hit 10 dollars a barrel.
the fact that covid is many times more transmittable than any flu means it’s infected rates will be higher and therefore more will die despite a slightly lower mortality rate.
IT is only slightly higher then flu, and most of those that die of it were living on borrowed time only allowed by modern medical advances anyway. This is not the 1918 flu killing large swaths of young children and adults between 20 & 30.
it is much more transmittable than flu and more over it is contagious from people who are not showing any symptoms so they are unaware they are spreading it
My observation so far: Politics plays a role for sure. How much? We’ll see. Ideology probably plays a bigger role.
The lack of a coordinated public health care crisis response is some of both. Corporations happy to let free markets decide who can afford masks, respirators & gowns the most. Is that politics, values or ideology?
Other factors include access to international flights as one huge example. Meaning if you live in close proximity to an air hub with lots of inbound international flights from hotspots (prior to outbreaks being well understood) you were at greater risk of infection. Lockdowns. Sure, those were enacted sooner in some jurisdictions than others, mainly due to a lack of national coordination in the US.
One side is giving huge amounts of giveaways to the one group of people NOT in dire financial straits. The other side is trying to get help to the point who ARE in dire financial straits.
People can’t get tests. They’re just told to stay home if their symptoms are mild enough. Without an official test diagnosis, many employers won’t accept that their employees are infected. Paid time off becomes unpaid time off. And many people can’t afford to spent weeks at home without pay.
with the one small problem that one side wants to feed america sandwiches and the other wants to feed them shit sandwiches.
I’m not sure how the left’s anti meat positions is relevant? Has a diet high in soy been shown to make you more likely to grow seriously ill?
I would also point out that there is significant overlap with Districts that voted democrat, and the rates of infection.
This is however, most likely just a hygiene issue.

An Electric motor, or a combustion engine leaf blower?
so we’d need at least an acre of land each for that to be the case, which is what I want, but would be hard to run a city that way

actually those drugs come from those for profit corporations the republicans seem to love so much
Only if you consider the CIA a for profit corporation.
I do, but that’s kind of beside the point.
