Jesus did low-key return to Southern California in 1978, smiled on Ronald Coyne, then headed on down to Venice Beach where he ran into pavement artist YoYo Collins who depicted the newly-returned Christ as a Neanderthal with no body or limbs. Jesus was insulted, and went to walk on the water for a bit of time out and to show off his chops, but he sank. It might have been the Crocs, who knows. The Canton Spirituals dove in to get him and none were ever seen again. The other three – Don’t give up! Come on ring those bells, and the stoic Songs of God’s Love are all onlooker albums, and might be shit musically, but they sure are sharp.
