There’s a couple changes that just rolled into the shop, you’ll likely only notice them if you’re on a monitor that’s 1080p or larger.
I’m honestly not sure how it looks on a 4k monitor, someone send me one to test the site on it pls.
I wonder what a sticky post looks like with this change?
I’m not happy with how squished the comments are on a 1080p screen, they don’t really lend to long form comments. Anything more than 5 replies deep is going to look silly over here too.
the footer still looks stupid.
What happened to the “Show Comments” link on the posts on the main page?
I removed it for the night, it was causing some problems.
It’s still causing problems, but I think I have a fix incoming for it.
It looks exactly the same on a 4k as it does on a 1440p imgur.com/hloZKkt Lots of empty black space that could do with something, like a space scene to fill it
best I have is a 1080p monitor, but I think I can make some educated guesses about how to make it look less shit on larger monitors.
Pretty broken on my Galaxy S8+
Images aren’t scaling down to fit the screen, and it won’t let me scroll right to view the right side of them, or pinch zoom.
In landscape, there’s a big grey bar on top, so I can only use the bottom 2/3 of the screen, and some text shows over the images.
image scaling and page width issue resolved on the mobile view, I’m looking into why the admin bar is so broken and taking so much space.
I am missing the SHOW COMMENTS tab. Waiting for the page to change, and waiting for the page to load ads, and stop jumping around while it does that, sucks.
there should only be one 35px ad at the top to load, is that the one that’s causing you problems? or is it the ones after the 5th and 15th posts?
the “show comments” is gone forever now. now the comments will just always show, I couldn’t figure out a way to have the hyper responsive layout and have the moving comments at the same time, and I’m really liking how they look now.
That works. Thanks
So now you have bandwidth to spare ?
it’s less about bandwidth than it is about spare mysql process cycles, which is what’s causing the site to slow down from time to time. I’ve made it so if you’re logged in you get the full comments on the front page, but if you’re logged out, you’ll need to click through to the full post to see what everyone’s on about.
super fugly FAIL on Google’s Chrome browser on the Mac.
in what regard?
