I watched this a couple nights ago (release night, ‘natch) and somehow forgot to log it. I’ll not go into spoilers here, but boy howdy was I happy with what they did in Spider-Man: Homecoming. I do have some minor complaints and one large one, but the large one dives deeply into spoiler territory, so let me just hint at it by saying: it is heretical that she’s not a red head.
Having recently wrapped up a re-watch of all the MCU movies, I feel like I can put this one in the top 5, likely even in the top 3. Tom Holland is as perfect as Robert Downy Jr was when he first started, and there’s significant rumors that Peter Parker will eventually take the place as Tony Stark is phased out in the next several movies.
There’s two post credit scenes, one is great and the other is pretty awesome in it’s own regard. , so please stay until the credits stop rolling, if you have patience it’ll pay off.
I agree with your “large complaint”. The one minor problem I had with the movie was I felt they really downplayed Peter’s intelligence. I always thought he’s supposed to be a genius (at least by high school standards for this particular movie). I mean, he built his own web shooters from scraps….not unlike Tony building his first miniature arc reactor in captivity.
As such, I don’t understand why he needed a “guy in a chair”.
it’s hard to do research on where the headlights are on a car while you’re chasing a bad guy in said car?
The name makes me a little upset too
Spiderman…?
Isn’t that what they called him in the comics?
Don’t think they could have gotten away with changing the actual name of the superhero…
