Studio Ghibli hardly fucks up. Ever. It’s one series of animation from Japan I can actually stand. It honestly has story and substance to it. Nor does the style cause bleeding eyes. Nausicaa and Princess Mononoke are my favorites, though Howl’s Castle is splendid as well.
@...7footJesus: I agree. When I first saw Grave of the Fireflies I actually thought it was by Miyazaki.
Yeah it’s one of those movies, nearly made me cry.
Studio Ghibli makes the best stiff
Hayao Miyazaki is GOD of Anime.
Howl’s is a beautiful film. Saw it on the big screen one summer day.
The book version of this is so much better, but I saw the movie first, and I still love it. Even the English dub is awesome.

Add Spirited Away to that list. It was quite good.
Spirited Away was okay, too juvenile for my tastes
LoveLoveLove. What are you talking about? Spirited Away blew my mind. All his films could be considered as too juvenile. They’re not.
I still haven’t seen this! Miyazaki’s work is amazing.
Grave of the Fireflies (Ghibli but not Miyazaki) is quite possibly the saddest thing I have ever seen in my life. But well worth the watch.
