Somebody swerved in front of me and hit the brakes. I pretty much knew a collision was coming and I woke up in the local trauma center with a head injury. For some reason the only thing I ever seem to break is my skull. Minor fracture in my sinus, paired with a concussion. I was released the following afternoon after spending a night under observation. I’ve got a little rug burn on my extremities and some bruises, but all considering it could have been much worse.
Holy fuck dude, glad to hear you’re ok! did the dipshit stop to make sure you were ok?
Yeah, what Tiki so eloquently said.
And heal up quick.
honestly it was pretty much “lights-out” as soon as my head hit….something. I did hear from a neighbor who lived alongside the site of the wreck that a dude blocked the road with his truck until the medics arrived. I am guessing the car I struck did hang around but it’ll be a week before I get the police report. It’ll either read I was going to fast to avoid a stopped vehicle, or a witness statement saying that vehicle made a sudden lane change and abruptly stopped, leaving me no time/room to negotiate. One thing for certain, i’ll invest and operate a camera at all times now when riding. I know the other driver cut me off, but I won’t be able to prove it alone.
I have a $60 dashcam in my car, I know they make ones you can slap on the side of your helmet
That sucks. I used to ride a moped in town and always felt super fragile. Having just two wheels really changes the driving game. Hit a pothole on a gravel road once, only doing like 10mpg or less, but the landing definitely had me dazed. and soaked in the 6-pack from my basket. I personally know one person that died from hitting a wolf while on motorcycle, riding can be so randomly dangerous. I drive AWD these days, appropriate for Wisconsin, but I still will be wanting/getting a dash-cam in the near-future because of all the goddamn idiots everywhere. Yield means yield, not suddenly full brake stop in front of me, ffs. Yeah, idiots have been allowed to drive sadly.
Geez scary, full face helmet ftw.
