the lords prayer was said at the start of the school day until I was in high school…by the 80s.
Maybe we had an option not to participate, but we certainly weren’t informed of this…so….forced.
not that good at math are you? that’s only 56 years ago at most and it always takes time to filter down to smaller (stuck in their ways) towns. so say 1969 then 6 more years for small town politics. so they could be elementary when I was. born in 1969. 47 years old. your guess is 100. go back to school shit for brains.
Christianity had its “5 minutes”. Now it’s “little brother’s” time.

So many instances of Christianity on the run in schools while knowledge and practice of islam is in the syllabus. A young girl is suspended for silently mouthing grace, another for saying “bless you” to a sneezer, while elsewhere (in the US) students are required to adopt a moslem persona for a week, learn koranic passages etc.
Point of order re: the picture above – shouldn’t the girl students be whipped or similar for praying with the master gender?
So a couple of isolated incidents and….did you even read the bit about studying Islam…?
In my day kids were sent to the office for refusing to say the lord’s prayer (me for instance).
It was fairly common.
I don’t agree with school boards restricting religion…and these examples are silly…but I also don’t agree with enforcing religion (as Christianity was when I was young).
I have absolutely no problem with teaching religion in regards to its very real influence on history.
What idiot would be against this? It actually happened.
Interesting how the pendulum swings though….huh….?

Fucking Dutch…
“forced” to pray, what did they do, superglue their noses to the carpet? Maybe someone just lost a contact lens??
I was forced to pray in public school.
I don’t see why Christians get so offended when some other faith does it…
You’re wrong about the image.
Let’s say it otherwise : “Did you see or know many young muslims forced to pray in a church ?”
😉
“forced to pray in public school”?
that hasn’t been legal since the 1960’s. How old are you, 100?
fuckin hell stop having a go at me, I’m just repeating (including”” them bunny ear things!!!!) what the link said.
and yes I’m very very old, add a couple more zero’s in there, that’s why I like it when Shoes call’s me “boy” haha.
(if you’re talking to gropeygropey, ok just ignore me.)

hey I’m no offended, I know some Christians who were forced to pry too … but not with superglue …. ok maybe just on the fingers.

you have sources for any of those? They certainly sound like an over reach, but they also sound like bs that’s spread by the persecuted majority.
Skandy has his own little frightened “narrative” going.
It doesn’t matter that it has almost no ground in reality.
I chose two left leaning sites to describe the curriculum bias to avoid any “lalala” filtering. So there’s a bit of obfuscation.

The “saying grace” thing is actually a matter of law. Reed vs VanHoven 1965 Michigan Supreme Court determined that grace could be “said” (so thought then) over a school lunch only if there was no lip movement. (what about ventriloquism?) Odd that when lunch is over one can then go recite (aloud) passages from the koran.
