This happened outside my work today…the guy (in red) was coming around the corner, bending over to pick up a dropped cigarette and ran smack into a parked, un-hitched, drop-deck trailer.
yeah, the scary thing is, he almost did have a passenger! the guy who hit the trailer was coming back from lunch when this happened. His co-worker was going to go with him as he does everyday… but on this day he had to get gas, so he drove his own truck – this guy was in more shock than the guy who actually hit the trailer!
Unless the passenger was retarded, they would have been like, “Dude, there’s a big fucking trailer, you’re going to hit the trailer, man, don’t hit the trailer, you best not hit the trailer, man”.
@...LukeV1-5: That doesn’t always work. I was riding with a co-worker who stopped under the warning bar that drops down when the train comes. Then I heard the train coming and said, “I think there’s room for you to pull forward!” She just sat there, then BAM, the bar came right down on the hood. She freaked out while it went up and came back down. I had to yell, “BACK UP! BACK UP!” People just freak out and freeze even with the warning of impending doom.
^ “She just sat there, then BAM, she realised she was driving a car! From that day forth, lesson learned, the bad female driver never left the kitchen again.
@...LukeV1-5: Problem is, there are extra “reaction steps” in that scenario. Driver reacts to the passanger warning him, usually by look up to confirm and then reacts to that. The delay could be too much depending on the situation, and is really unavoidable.
second post!
What a fucking idiot. Smoking kills. Had he had a passenger, they probably would’ve died.

Dumbass. And being a trucker, I can tell you that there’s a good chance that they’ll find some way to blame the trucker for it, too.
No.
