Picture 1 – Cesare/The Cabinet Of Dr Caligari
Picture 2 – Gwynplaine/The Man Who Laughs (extremely painful, literally bruising make-up by Jack Pierce)
After this is gets REALLY tantalizing. Universal were so keen on Veidt they wanted to cast him as Dracula, but Veidt was convinced his heavily German accented voice wouldn’t work so he turned it down. So they hired someone (irony alert) with no discernible accent at all, Bela Lugosi.
Picture 3 – Jaffar/The Thief Of Bagdad (He’s heavily referenced in Disney’s Aladdin)
Picture 4 – Conrad being a sexy bitch.
And finally a montage to the glory that is Conrad Veidt.
Hey, thanks for including my video! And glad to see someone posting about the greatness that is Herr Veidt. He was one hell of a sexy bitch indeed, especially in the talkies, which is why I mostly used talkie clips in that fanvid (people mostly know him as a silent horror star, but jeebus, what a sex panther he was once he grew up). And usually people just go on about what a great human being he was, and he most definitely was that, but the sexybitchiness should not go unappreciated:)
Well hello there! What a fantastic montage! Thank you for putting it together. Excellent choice of music too.
At 0.35, the original ‘Hands Of Orlac’ orchestrating some lesbianism. Excellent!
Connie was basically the god of hand porn. I know very well that fanvids shouldn’t feature clips of that length (it’s always best to have one clip per line), but I simply couldn’t leave Torsten’s handporning at the lesbians halfway, so I left it in unedited. And since it’s a very androgynous bisexual guy doing it in a movie directed by a gay guy, it gains so many more delicious layers than an ordinary ‘guy finds girl on girl hot’ thing would. Connie’s just an erotic gift that keeps on giving.
🙂 There’s plenty of ‘hand porn’ going on here.

Oh and by the way everybody, The Thief Of Bagdad is a great film to watch with your kids, if you’ve got any, and don’t be put off by the rather perverse goings on here. Even if you haven’t got kids, WATCH IT.
