It wouldn’t mean what history records happened for the author’s desire to sober-up the Russian masses of their religion. The state as “god” instead – practical atheism – did nothing good for the Russian people.
Was I dropped on my head when I was a baby? That’s the way that insult is supposed to be phrased. Now, are you willing to discuss what I wrote? I’ll remind you of it. Once Russians were sobered-up of their opiate of religion, what good things came to them as a result?
Perhaps you’d like to discuss how Scandinavia suffers from being largely atheistic? Or perhaps you’d like to discuss what theistic rule has done to countries in the middle east? The Vatican?
No, I wouldn’t because this is Karl Marx and his opiate of the people being [their] Judeo-Christian beliefs. It wasn’t dulling the minds or serving as a false coping mechanism, as he flatly and confidently stated. This isn’t about the economic socialism of communism. My remarks were about what sobering-up the Russian people with Marx’s anti-Judeo-Christianity worldview would do to the peoples of Russia, once state forces stopped it. It was that it was an anti- way of ruling that so much harm resulted. Apatheistic national religious norms that aren’t *anti-*, are another matter.
no, I meant like bumped your head , had a rock fall on it,etc., it can be said many ways that’s why language is fun. but back to the topic , if it didn’t do the ruskies any good then why is it many if not most like putin because he reminds them of a new stalin and they believe that russia must be ran with a firm hand.after the fall of communism russia is overrun with gangsters, drug addiction and enough in car video cams to run the internet forever. not exactly a success.
The wounded egos of Russian citizens? [And] they liked the days when they were an economic and military superpower in the world? Some Russians must feel more important and potent, living vicariously through the cocky cold war-like ex-KGB Putin’s take no bullshit attitude from the American leadership. Crime might be the result, partially, of a long-standing stable economic way of life that Russians could rely on to give chances to even the substandard worker, changing now to the strong survive and the weak do not. maybe greediness for money and power erupted. How about that explanation for mob crime? The socialism securities ended when the economics of USSR Communist rule ended. Some new social unrest and new harsh poverty began, and the latter did not abate. It isn’t the new tolerance of Judeo-Christianity in Russia that is to blame for any of this.
The punchline to this came in the next panel, which featured his tv thinking: “It means Karl Marx hadn’t seen *anything* yet.”
Or something similar- it’s been a few years since my last trip through the omnibus.
I guess this makes Marx the most quoted author most people never read. The modern use and understanding of this quote is to Marx what killing poor people is to Darwin.

Hell, look at theistic rule in Ireland. The church has screwed our country over royally.

it’s a true statement that stands on its own, even if you had never heard of marx.

being said by a television set
Religion is what causes republicans to willingly give 10% of their income to the church and then turn around to complain about taxes.
never understood how “christians” would saddle up side by side with bankers, corporations and the rest of the rich. didn’t they read their own book?
