It was made originally as an expedient concealable weapon. But people who have a thing for russians and guns seem to think they are…. better than pants on head, full clownshoes

proving where there’s a will there’s a way, work with what you got
I can only imagine how hard that thing is to fire, and how much it would hurt your wrist. Even with a full stock and full-length barrel a Mosin-Nagant is painful to shoot.
As somebody who [has demonstrated on multiple occasions that he] doesn’t know shit about guns, I can only call it like I see it, and to me this looks like something that wouldn’t work very well. Those rounds are of a fairly high-powered type, no? Wouldn’t such a powerful recoil effectively ruin the accuracy (to say nothing of injuring the shooter) if one was firing it like a handgun? Would this sort of weapon be more or less risky than, say, a sawed-off shotgun?
I appeal to the vast pool of firearms knowledge that is M[c]S.
If you could hold it steady it would be accurate enough out to, say, probably about 100 yds. It would be painful, and as you said, make it hard to hold steady.

It is a Mosin-Nagant. Though it looks shopped. The rifle is blurry in spots and the shadows don’t look right
carry anywhere
