In Zimbabwe the magnificent Victoria Falls have a drop of 128m. There is a place where one can swim called the Devil’s Pool but only during the months of September to December.
I’m not afraid of heights. I am, however, afraid of plunging to a horrible wet death, so you wouldn’t catch me (or my family) dead swimming there. I don’t care how safe it actually is.
How come only during september and december? Is the water level too high? The current too strong? Its bear season? The waterfall is asleep during those months and awakes for the 10 other months to feed on the unsuspecting pray of whomever or whatever decides to come near it?
