    The concept that much of the inhumanity in this world is fueled by a desire for profit is neither new or propaganda, it’s simply a historical fact.

    Religious beliefs are the easiest to manipulate. There is a ton of money to be made in bullets. The poor are busy fighting because someone tells them God wants them to. Yassar Arafat died a billionaire while the Palestinians live in hovels.
    Somalia wouldn’t spend decades in civil war if there wasn’t money in selling bullets.
    America sells fighter jets to Egypt and Israel. They may not be fighting, but they certainly don’t get along. When one side buys the new model, the other side buys to keep up.

    I cant imagine there being much money in suicide bombings, or ethnic cleansing, or the slaughter of apostates or the ban on condoms or the insistence that some people have a divine claim on a spot of land. Sure they’re supported by the governments in power but I’m not sure if they’re bringing much money in.

    The money is in the weapons, not the people killing and being killed, and the weapons bring in LOTS of money. The people doing the killing are the consumers. When you can manipulate/create reasons for them to fight, you can insure you’ll sell product.

The U.S. is in so much debt, yet the world economy relies on our consumption of imported goods, in which most is fueled by outsourcing, thus pissing off Americans, who are currently suffering from a declining job market.
