Of course it is! As a strict constitutionalist, you should know that the President’s primary responsibility is to represent the United States to the rest of the world and make us look good. Have you seen those picture of the crowds in Germany? Do you think thousands of people would show up, cheering and waving US Flags if McCain showed up? Let me emphasize: people in another country were waving US flags instead of burning them. How often does that happen?

He’s popular despite the fact that he’s an idiot. Socialism doesn’t work.
Ever listen to one of his speeches? He can talk forever without saying anything and still sound good. That’s why he’s popular.
I’m with Reboot. I never find myself voting FOR anyone, just against the guy I can’t stand. After the 2000 election ended up giving us a president that lost the popular vote and somehow managed to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the president is basically a figurehead – fuck it. Obama’s got me on this one. A figurehead might as well be a guy that makes is look good. I.E. – Not one that calls the Italian leader “Amigo.”
After endless debates with my wife about how any candidate who’s a product of “the system” and essentially answers to the same wealthy groups is never going to really change anything, I had to concede to her. Her point is that her 401k is tanking, and we need a pretty face who can instill some hope in this country and make us look better on the world stage. Every time Bush opens his mouth, the market drops 2 points.
Article II, Section I of the U.S. Constitution (Presidential Oath of Office):
Before he enters on the execution of his office, he shall take the following oath or affirmation:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
where does it talk about popularity?

“yes! the election is a popularity contest”
Um, you said election, not oath of office. Why are you changing the topic to the latter? An election is *roughly* based on who gets the most votes (electoral college, yeah yeah) and therefore the most popular. Oh wait, there’s something called the popular vote too. Huh. Go figure.
@... reboot
its more often than you think
(waving the us flag)
i was just over in the E.U. and i saw more american flags than i expected.
and i was supprised.
i think you meant
we see flags being waved instead of burnt. cause the news chose to actually show american flags in europe for once instead of them being burnt. what we SEE and are TOLD doesnt nessecarly mean thats exactaly whats happening.
you know?
This asshole gets more bullshit propaganda made about and for him than anyone else ever.
NO ONE IS ARGUING WITH YOU. TAKE YOUR MESSIAH AND FUCKOFF. I’M NOT EVEN IN AMERICA AND I’M TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT THE SAVIOR OF THE UNIVERSE CAPTAIN OBAMA OF THE PLANET PERFECTION.
The same people who get fast and loose about global politics despite having no real practical knowledge of it are the same losers who think anyone will bother to object to their brainwashed opinions about Bush, Obama, Iraq, and the fucking planet.
How about if nobody votes in a given geographic area they can veto the presence of government all together? No? Because it’s all about money and fucking people over in bulk groupings? oh
yes! the election is a popularity contest
AWESOME
Because I don’t like his ideas. He seems like a good guy but i disagree with him on nearly everything.

At that, I point to reboot’s comment above.

think socialism doesn’t work? how could Great Britain been socialized for the past 70+ years and have the still strongest currency in the world?
at Dyna-Mole
Illuminati is based in London
wow! that is a pretty funny picture. there is this funny article about obama at
www.dailynewsdrop.com
feel free to check it from time to time for another diversion in your daily life!
I.E.: so they keep them afloat with all their secret money?
I’m just glad I’ll have the opportunity to vote against this socialist assclown for a second time.
You forgot to mention that he’s inexperienced.
Love him or hate him, he is a better option than McCain.
Vote Cthulu in 2008: Why vote for a lesser evil?
Not really considering he’s a socialist. Either way we’re fucked, but we’re less fucked with McCain IMO.
think socialism doesn’t work?
Socialism would never work in America because so many people are against it.
“how could Great Britain been socialized for the past 70+ years and have the still strongest currency in the world?”
Because nations have strong economic points and weak economic points. It’s just the way it works. Nations rise and fall.
This asshole gets more bullshit propaganda made about and for him than anyone else ever.

“how could Great Britain been socialized for the past 70+ years and have the still strongest currency in the world?â€Â
Is 70 years a long time for maintaining a given government and currency? I’d have thought no.
