Except that there are civilian versions 0f all 0f those vehicles, thousands more civilian models built than police versions. So you’ll more likely be running from some soccer mom’s grocery-getter or local taxi rather than the law.
I don’t think the suggestion was to bolt and run whenever you see any of these headlights, but more if you see any of them in your rear-view, don’t do anything blatantly stupid and illegal.
Just sayin’.
Sometimes, you’re able to see small black grids on the actual headlights, at least around where I live. Also, there may be sections of the front which are blacked out- usually around the grill- to hide the flashing lights.
I always suggest driving with scrubs on your front seat. I’ve worked in hospitals for seven years, and those scrubs (and occasionally, my badge) have gotten me out of SEVERAL tickets.
Yeah, I think that’s what they’re trying to show here. Unless you think a reverse-image of something symmetrical is going to look substantially different?
Of course, you aren’t always nabbed by an officer behind you, anyway. Sure, that’s where they are when they’re pulling you over, but by that time you’ve already (allegedly, until proven guilty) committed your offense, during which an officer could have been to the front or side of you. I think this helpful guide could be used to ID potential problematic vehicles on any side of you, provided you can see the shape of the headlights. Ideally, a chart showing the most common wheel coverings and key features to be on the lookout for would be even more beneficial. (Extra antennae, the aforementioned blacked-out sections in grilles, beacon searchlights under the driver window, etc.)
Impala
Just wondering what part of the country they are using Impala / tahoes?
They use all of them in the Seattle area.
The sound of the brakes is the real giveaway. V8 with worn out shit brakes.

Maybe in theory. In my actual experience, that’s what worked.

The caprice looks like its winking at me.

What you need to know are what the headlights look like from your rear view mirror.
