For the sake of debate – three is the lowest number by which one can reasonably establish a pattern; the psychological tendency for people to begin our analysis with the establishing of such a simple pattern is the basis for a lot of comedy.

As you can see, Lincoln is still an outlier within an established pattern – though we subconsciously associate the direction of “right” with “forward” and “correct” (see etymology of ‘right’ (dexter; ready, correct) and ‘left’ (sinister; left, unlucky) we also strive towards normality, harmony, and most of all, socially beneficial conformity.

Either way, whether Lincoln can be seen as paranoid or just the only president shown to have learned his lesson, he can still be arguably seen as looking the wrong goddamn way.
