What I’d do, is take on of the bottles of Jack, the smaller one, break it, stab the shop guy, and make off with the bigger Jack bottle, the Chivas AND the Jameson.
Messed up the conversion. 12$ for a decent 0.7l local brand vodka.

namelis nezinau ar kalbi lietuviskai…but…the reason why JD is so expensive in Lithuania is because most people there drink local stuff, which is by far cheaper.
Kalbu kalbu.
Mirror – that’s why I posted the pic. To cry about it being expensive.

We’ve had the over-priced rock star promoted stuff for ages.
As noted by OP, you can get a lot better booze for a lot less money by avoiding JD – your paying a lot for the pretty label.
I love the JD, makes some kickass cocktails, but a nice bourbon or Scotch normally costs less for better stuff.
As for vodka, unless you are in the far eastern parts, $8-12 vodka probably won’t be too decent… might be a little better than the paint stripper that is Smirnoff, but not much ! Throw juice or coke over it, and you might mask the flavour enough, but neat – yuck.
Sorry Namelis1, Tiki and all the other Jack drinkers out there. I would be grabbing that 12 year Chivas instead.
Why would you be surprised to see that? I don’t get it.
I too would be going for the Chivas.
Rob.

someone meeds to use this in one of those lame USA vs. Europe threads
jacky is around 16 euro in the next supermarkt here in germany 😛
Yeah, we only just got JD over here in Europe last year, right after we got sliced bread, electricity and aluminium 😉
$34US doesn’t seem like an exorbitant amount for a litre of Jack. What kind of Vodka can you get $8US/litre? Vladimir?

You should try the Jack Daniels fudge if you would happen to see it at an airport near you. I just found it at Heathrow..
Sorry I don’t understand this?? isn’t that Whiskey? Not Vodka?
$40 is current price on the big bottle of JD. I get them free however.
Smaller bottle is about $20. Of coarse safeway charges a little less, especially with a safeway club card.
