On the contrary, I think she’s been in too many “popular” (read: stupid and pointless) movies recently, and I’d like to see her in a legitimate dramatic film.
Oh, and I did consider Sin City to be part of the latter.

Nah. That still sucks. Alba in a dramatic role is a square peg in a round hole. She makes a good victim and a good stripper / dancer.
In Sin City she played a victim and a stripper. Thats simply the best that she has to offer.
But it’s not all bad – I think she made a really solid performance as a victim stripper.
Example: Fantastic 4 sucked balls. She in no way looked the part of a white scientist older sister. If they would have re-written her part as some kind of young Latino girl who has the power to summon a pole – and dance on it – the movie would have improved 10-fold.
Christ, I downloaded the movie for free and I still feel cheated that I watched that steaming pile of crap.
Damn that was a pointless rant…
