A slightly altered photo I took of the Great Buddha in Kamakura. Recolored, added some clouds, set to a halfway decent desktop size.
For those who have not seen it, it’s hollow.
Hallow… so its basically a giant pinata?
&$@...! I fail at spelling.
It has a door (or two?) in the base, a set of stairs, a small platform, and some big windows in the back. It’s about 40 ft. tall. The outside is more impressive than the inside.
See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kotokuin for some good pictures of the outside.
The statue is about 700 years old. For the first 200 years it was inside a temple, but a tsunami took care of that.
