The truth is that the movie is pretty good. At least it’s a nice departure from all the comic-book-based garbage that has been hurled at us this year.

It’s predictable as hell, of course, if only because everyone should know how it ends. And James Franco is about as believable as a scientist as Tara Reid was in Alone in the Dark. But Cesar (the main chimp) is goddamn amazing. Again, everything about him is predictable, but the execution is stunning. He’s the most lively, interesting, and emotive (without being emo) character in a long time.

Certainly worth the download…
