Using knives, tweezers and surgical tools, Brian Dettmer carves one page at a time. Nothing inside the out-of-date encyclopedias, medical journals, illustration books, or dictionaries is relocated or implanted, only removed.
Dettmer manipulates the pages and spines to form the shape of his sculptures. He also folds, bends, rolls, and stacks multiple books to create completely original sculptural forms.

heh. I just saw the first pic on /b/ not 15 minutes ago.
This is really impressive. Life would be so dull if everyone was like me.
But without people like you who appreciate things like this, what would be the point!
I know, thanx though. I come from an extremely artistic family and I’m really, really, really odd man out. I think my siblings stole my artistic mojo. 🙂
Art.
Sweet. Now I know what to do with the Dremel I got for Christmas. It can’t be too hard to do this.
ooooooooooooooh.
It’s like making christmas trees out of phone books but cool.
