Actually, I’m not anti-smoking per se. Even though I don’t smoke, (I kinda just smoulder. 🙂 ) I like the smell of smoke.
But smoking really isn’t healthy, and it is a hard smell to get rid of. So for people who don’t like it, it’s is hard to be around smokers.
It can also really be a dirty habit. Smoke ash everywhere, all of your clothes and furniture will smell of it, and many smokers houses and furniture always have this weird smell, not just the smoke smell, but something not so good smelling as well.
And I needn’t talk about the potential problems with lungs, teeth, lips, tongue, fingers, etc. But there it is. To see it portrayed in the media, you’d think it was the sexiest thing alive.
The fuck cares about the media? I find smoking sexy, I don’t give a rat’s ass what the media has to say about it.
I’ve lived with smokers my whole life, I’m used to the smell.
And to avoid furniture stinkage… don’t smoke in those rooms, not a hard thing to do.
Unfortunately, too many people do start smoking due to peer pressure and the media, so they are important influences. And just so we are clear, I don’t care whether a person decides to smoke or not. I think that, as an adult, you have the right to smoke if you want to.
It is not people like me that are ruining this world. It is the people who believe that they must impose their way of life upon everyone else that are ruining this world. And I am certainly not one of them. I prefer to promote self education, and let people make their own choices.
You also certainly have the right to believe that smoking is sexy. I personally don’t see what’s sexy about it, but that is irrelevant. What is more important is that it’s not healthy. Nor is the smell appealing to everyone.
And that is the truth. You want to be a smoker, more power to you, but at least be honest with everyone about the effects, so others can make an informed decision about it. If telling the truth is what you think is ruining this world, then you can just ignore me. That’s your right as well.
As a side note, while the whole idea of not smoking while in the house is a good one, I can personally attest that not everyone follows that simple rule. Now it’s their home, so they can do what they want in it, but if they’re planning on having guests over… well…
Oh no, smoking is bad, shit bad. Lungs, throat, teeth, lips, general skin, stamina… they all go to shit. But But I’m willing to take the risks for the sake of relaxation… and coolness.
People that smoke all over the house are pretty dumb in my book. Either outside or in the kitchen.
Smokers smell like shit, and kissing them tastes like shit. Even naked, you can still smell rancid smoke in their hair. And such wonderful leathery skin so soon!
Agreed, I actually do like the smell of some cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco. Among other things. However I wouldn’t want to walk around constantly smelling like that all the time either.
What bothers me? Telling adults what they can and can’t do. Kids however, are a completely different thing. I’m glad that kids are not smoking as much, once you get started, it’s very difficult to stop. It’s a good thing that anti-smoking campaigns have targeted the young and the very young. Smoking is my big vice. I honestly have never tried to quit, though I did while pregnant and breast feeding, nearly three years. I couldn’t believe I had started again after three years. I started smoking when I was nine years old. Crazy, I know, but it’s such a part of what I do that I can’t imagine going through my day w/out them. Hubby never smoked and none of the kids do, for that I am happy. In terms of the smell in the house – deal w/ it, or don’t. If I can manage in other people’s houses that have 3 cats and one litter box (they never notice the smell) or so many scented candles and potpourri (that I’m pretty sure is sucking up all the oxygen), then they can deal w/ stale tobacco. My only exceptions are one of my nieces and nephews that have breathing issues. I don’t smoke while near them or in the house while they are there.

I’m just saying.
I was joking up there.

Ah. Well, in my defense, it’s like the wee hours of the morn over here so mah humor meter ain’t exactly workin’ all that good dagnabbit…
I agree, she is sexy, but smoking is not, and her doing it detracts from her sexiness as well as gives her heinous breath.
And yellow teeth –
Looks like she could use a sandwich or two instead.

There are a few of us who like the smell, especially of a nice aromatic cigar or pipe.
Woop woop
(a variation to your woot woot)
Toot toot
vroom vroom
cigars smell like a charnel house on fire
worse than cigarettes usually

A pipe smells OK, but damn, that is not a feminine smell.

Looks like Keira Knightley?
Enjoy stained teeth and premature aging?
