Sad thing is i LOVE macs and i had high hopes for the Ipad. But good god, this is fucking pathetic. Apple had the chance to revolutionize the industry with a mindblowing piece of hardware…And they just fucking dropped the ball.

The giant improvement here is in the battery life. 10 hours while watching movies on an IPS screen is awesome. Aside from that, it’s probably going to worth while for the apps/exclusives that they are going to line up for it. I don’t see alot of gaming potential in this, but I think it will be a huge threat to the Kendel. It could also help out other forms of print media like news papers and magazines.

The kendel has a screen that won’t strain your eyes. With the iPad you might as well be reading off a laptop.
The Kendel can’t do color media, thats where this will shine. The Kendel doesn’t do well in low light situations, this won’t have that problem. Is e-ink better on your eyes? Sure, but it’s also far less functional. Time will tell sir. If you’re right you, feel free to write “I told you so” everywhere.
I might take you more seriously if you could spell the thing you’re deriding.
My friend was going on about how Steve Jobs said this was the greatest thing he had ever released… the greatest thing he ever released was a color version of something that is less than half the price. So it has a few apps and it can function as a shitty tablet. If you bought an iPod touch and a Kindle you would have the same thing for a few hundred dollars cheaper. The sad thing is that there are people who will still buy this thing.
I’m so glad that somebody put this together. Its just like the iphone. I had an HP ipaq years ago, and wasn’t exactly amazed by anything on an iphone except for the softer touch needed to get a response and the “pinch” and “stretch” tricks. The accelerometer was pretty slick, but the rest of it, HP had already done (and even some of that, palm had done before HP). The iphone is a good phone, but it isn’t revolutionary, just well marketed.

The TC 1100 is more than twice as heavy i believe. Apple is fixated on weight and size, style over substance.
